SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE SUNDAY
Held the third or fourth Sunday of January, this is an opportunity for your church to reflect on the decision of Roe vs. Wade. January 22, 1973, is the date that the Supreme Court made the decision that a life in the womb could be terminated legally. On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade making abortion illegal in some states, but not all states. During the Covid pandemic, distributing the abortion pills by mail became the method most women obtained abortions. Although it is illegal for clinics in the U.S. to distribute by mail to Alabama, there are no restrictions for other countries, like China, which is regulated by the federal government. Abortion could be as close as her mailbox. Girls still come to the center that are seeking abortion. Some have already contacted clinics in other states where abortion is legal.
As Christians, we are called on to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. We do this by teaching our children, youth and adults that we are created in the image of God. Life is precious and we should protect it!!
Sav-A-Life Bessemer is available to come to your church and share how God is using this center to stand up for LIFE. If an alternate date during the month of January would be better suited for you to celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, we welcome any opportunity to share Sav-A-Life .
We will also be glad to share any of our resources. Contact us at the numbers at the bottom of this page.
