A Letter from the Director...
Dear Churches,
Sav-A-Life Bessemer desires to be connected with our local churches. We actually see this ministry as an extension of your ministry. We ask our clients about their involvement in church. Their responses vary; they are looking for a church; some have been hurt and don’t want to go to church; some have drifted away and some have never been to church. We listen to our clients and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit attempt to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father. We share with them why church should be a consistent part of their life and the many benefits and blessings that come when they are connected.
We are thankful for the churches that support us through prayer and financial support. We appreciate the churches that have baby showers, participate in fundraisers and have a church liaison to keep their churches informed. It makes it easier for us to share your church with our clients if you have been connected with us. We would love to recommend your church, so please reach out to us. Send or drop off brochures for your church with service times and activities offered.
We look forward to serving the Lord together with you,
Becky

CHURCH LIAISONS
|
CHURCH SUPPORT |
Does your church have a Sav-A-Life liaison? A liaison is someone that has a passion for missions and a deep love for this ministry and what we do. A liaison can be a church staff person, a lay couple or individual, or two friends. They need to be comfortable speaking at your church about Sav-A-Life when necessary and communicate well with staff and secretaries. Your liaison will attend a two-hour training that includes a meal. The training will inform them of every aspect of Sav-A-Life. Their main mission will be to promote the Walk for Life and Baby Bucks. They will attend meetings to pick up materials to bring to your church. They will also keep your church informed of material needs and service opportunities. We consider liaisons our special volunteers!
SAV-A-LIFE ABSTINENCE MINISTRYAngel Hudgins has been teaching abstinence for several years at Sav-A-Life. She has a heart for teenagers and the difficult struggles they face. Through her own personal testimony she is able to share the truth and consequences she faced because of the choices she made.
Angel will discuss with you the topics you feel will best suit your students that is age appropriate. She can talk about God’s plan for sex; what attracts boys and what attracts girls to sex; does birth control work; how many sexually-transmitted diseases ( STDs) are there and where does Jefferson County stand. This information is valuable to parents of preteens and teenagers. Please consider having a parent-only Q & A, too! WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!
There are several ways your church can support your local missionaries. Take the time to look over the “EVENTS” and “HOW TO HELP” tabs.
If you would like for us to come and speak at your church, we would love to. We also have a display and information we would love to share at your missions fair. Sav-A-Life Bessemer, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization and is totally funded through churches and individual donors. No grants or savings account. We follow all federal, state and local laws and filings with the IRS. We currently have 11 churches that support us monthly through their church budgets. Churches have sometimes donated some of their VBS mission offerings, Thanksgiving community offering, done a special mission project. Approximately 70% of our budget comes from our annual Walk for Life. Check out our Walk for Life tab. Baby Bucks is our late summer/early fall event that takes very little effort but can make a big impact at the end of the year. God is so faithful to provide through His churches!
STUDENT MINISTERS
Did you know?
PLEASE HELP YOUR STUDENTS! LET US HELP YOU! ALSO FOR STUDENTS
Help your students to be missionaries in their schools by educating them on the consequences of choosing not to abstain from sex as the Bible teaches.
Angel has been trained to teach the Decisions, Choices and Options curriculum. This is explaining what is involved physically, emotionally and spiritually in choosing abortion, parenting and adoption. Just as Angel’s testimony is effective in teaching the consequences of an STD, the same is true with this curriculum. Angel will be glad to do a preview of her presentation with your church staff and/or parents. |
